From Data to Decisions

AEC Tech Hub White Paper
"37% of construction professionals identify integration with exiting systems as a barrier to AI adoption." - RICS, Artificial Intelligence in Construction Report 2025
Implexus recently partnered with ADDD and Epic Games to produce a white paper discussing the challenge of data usability in the AEC industry. Where Unreal Engine "is
becoming the environment where data can be understood."

BIM models with millions of elements, simulation outputs, live sensor feeds and now AI recommendations each sit in their own tool and very few of the people who need to act on them can see how they fit together.
"From Data to Decisions", a white paper written in partnership with Epic Games on how teams are using Unreal Engine to close that gap follows three organisations doing this in practice.
Implexus Lab built a live digital twin of a liquid-metal test loop at Argonne National Laboratory, showing more than a thousand sensors in spatial context. - Sarah Causey
Jacobs uses its #RealScene platform to train first responders in scenarios that are too rare or too dangerous to rehearse for real. - Jim Kessler
Buro Happold turns masterplans into interactive environments where planners, engineers and clients can see how a district will perform before it is built. - Anthony Tuffour Erik Narhi, AIA
The detail I'd point any practitioner to is where the effort went at Argonne. Much of it went into turning more than 5,000 model elements into 220 sensor-linked zones, each checked against engineering drawings, before the sensor data could be mapped to the right place.
Geometry travels well; meaning has to be rebuilt.
